A vessel holds. A knot ties.
This series brings these two gestures together through the traditional technique of tatting. The cup becomes a body that holds, while the knots become a means of connecting and preserving. As the circles accumulate, they suggest how memories are formed—not as a single moment, but through repetition, attachment, and the gradual layering of time. Cast in silver, these delicate patterns become traces of repeated gestures made by the hand.
To hold is to keep something from disappearing.
To tie is to give it a form in which it can remain.

Echoes in the Blur 2025
“I Believe memory is always blurry and hazy. It is not unchangeable; through time, it starts to blur, distort, and even reconstruct. Memory is a blend of truth and fiction, shaped by time and emotion. Through fragmented layers, blurred textures, and dynamic forms, I explore its fluidity, fragility, and the elusive boundary between reality and distortion."
Chuhan’s Collection Echoes in the Blur examines the shifting nature of memory through a series of wearable jewellery and vessels. Using techniques such as knot casting, beading, crocheting, and layering, the project explores how memories are held, distorted, and reassembled over time. Materials such as frosted quartz, mother of pearl, and laser engraved acrylic are chosen for their translucent, hazy qualities mirroring the way memory fades or fragments.
Chuhan frames the body as both vessel and memory site, where inner emotion takes external, physical shape. Through tactile contrasts of softness and rigidity, Echoes in the Blur becomes a meditation on what it means to remember, and how jewellery can hold what words often cannot.

Proust’s Trail 2024
Chuhan’s Collection Proust’s Trail aims to provide a multi-sensory experience through jewellery. Scent can trigger emotional experiences in people. Inspired by Chuhan’s acute sensitivity towards scent, she visualises smell through her designs. Using silver as a carrier that materialises how aromas disperse into the air, and attaching cacholong stones that act as memory capsules, she encourages the wearer to explore the relationship between scents and memories.
